What should be done with sex offenders?

I feel that sex offenders who have served time, need to have stricter guidelines to follow after being released back into public. I don't know the current guidelines, but I am constantly hearing that sex offenders have committed another crime. I feel that if they had more rules to follow and maybe more counseling that sex offenders wouldn't be willing or able to commit another crime. I also think that the public needs to be better informed of sex offenders entering back into the community. I feel that this is a serious subject and that society needs to figure out a way so that these sex crimes don't continue to happen.
